An Act of Faith
The Shin brothers, Danny, Sammy and Joseph, members of the partnership between New Revival Church and First Christian Church of Carrolton entered into a local contest “KDallas” which is the Korean version of Dallas Has Talent. The brothers all picked individual songs to sing and went up against hundreds of competitors. Both Sammy and his brother Joseph made into the finals. The field narrowed to 25 competitors. The brothers and their church family prayed for success in the championship. The Shin family decided if they won the championship the first place prize of $2500.00 dollars would be dedicated to the mission field in Indonesia. We all prayed together at our joint evening service, Urban Refuge. What no one knew at the time is that the Shin families’ faith was so strong that they cut a check for 2500 dollars and sent it to the mission school in Indonesia before the contest finals even began. The night of the contest was intense. Sammy made it to the final six before being eliminated. Joseph went one to win first prize and the money that replaced what they had already sent to Indonesia. Joseph gave all glory and honor to God for the victory -Rev. Harold Elias-Percival
